Day 2: We Change, We Wait

First night in the apartment: Complete.  It actually wasn't bad.  It would be nice if I actually had a bed, but it looks like I'll be spending another night on the air mattress.  So far no word from the moving company.  I'll allow myself a little bit of hope that they will come, but not too much.

It's been a busy morning.  My car is now amply protected against theft, thanks to a cool guy named Luke.  I am in the process of getting auto and renter's insurance... although there won't be much to cover honestly.  All relevant accounts have received a change of address request.  What a shame it would be if my student loan information was sent to another person... drat.  Then again, defaulting isn't really in my grand plan either.

I did check out the work out room for the first time last night.  It's pretty sweet.  I plan on taking full advantage while I live here.  (Honestly, what else would I do?  And besides, I could use some toning up!)  Who knows, you may not even recognize me next time you see me!  Super tan and fit, that is my goal... well, fitter and tanner than I currently am.  :)  Further plans today include tanning for a bit at the pool and another workout tonight.

Tomorrow is going to be the exciting part.  First day on the job!  Ahhhhhhh!  I'm really excited, but still a bit nervous.  Talk about being the new kid all over again.  I thought it would be done after college, but no such luck.  I guess it's something that never really goes away, though.  Oh well.  I will endure it again, I guess.  Still miss everyone, so don't worry.  I haven't forgotten you already.  For now, though, I'll drown my sorrows in the sun.

Until next time, farewell from sunny (but a bit cloudy) Texas!

Day 1: Ridin' Solo

Well, friends and family have gone.  Today marks the first official day down here in Texas.  The crying is done (for the moment at least) and I'm ready to see what Denton has to offer me.  It was great having family come down to help me move, thanks Mom and Tim.  Dad, you're a bum.  Haha just kidding.  I will be waiting for that visit, though.  Big thanks to Donna, Leeann, Andy and David for coming down as well.  It was a great past few days with everyone.  Good food, Fort Worth exploration and some good memories made.

It's funny, I always read blogs of my friends and thought "wow, wouldn't it be cool to experience something that is blog-worthy?"  Now that I have my moment, I'm not really sure what to write.  Denton is a great city.  Apparently turn signals are optional in the state of Texas... and most don't use that option.  That will be something to get used to, especially in my new car!  That's right, the '96 Cavalier is history!  Hello, 2011 Camry!  It has air conditioning, which is already a major plus.  (For those of you who have ridden in my previous ride, you'll appreciate that as well!  Sorry Tabitha...)  I start the new job Wednesday.  For now, I'm stuck making multiple trips to Wal-Mart purchasing any house necessities I used to take for granted and trying to cover my bases.  Who knew so many car insurance options existed?  Phew.

I want to end this post with a big thank you to everyone I love.  You guys are the best!  I couldn't ask for more support with this move.  Everyone has been amazing and I'm so blessed to have each of you in my life.  Don't doubt I love each and every one of you.  I wouldn't be here without each of you.

Okay, enough with the sappy-ness.  I'll be updating when I have something worth sharing.  Until then, farewell from sunny Texas.  :)
